Updates....

Here is me with my new pendant on from Jenny Newtson. She was my first glass instructor....love you Jenny! I am just returning from a full day at the Oregon glass guild/ Portland Bead Society show at the Portland Convention Center. Picture courtesy of my 7yo Amelia

This is my shirt logo from Winship...i love it...I couldn't imagine anything cuter! I have the tank top and the jersey type shirt!

This is my friend Suzanne Box who ownns ZB Beads...she is a Boro Guru...she was the first person to teach me how to use boro...I got a lovey neclace from her booth in a to die for purple and she is making me matching earrings. Go Suzanne! You Rock! This was her first show and I think she did well. I thought her beads blew many other the others out of the water...but then again I am biased...but she is really good at her work.

Here is my workstation in the garage right now! A start for a studio...

After Glow

Well I was on the torch for about two hours and I have two broken beads and about 10 nice ones, including 3 hearts.....of course my daughters think they are all lovely and want to keep them....me I think they are a good start for being off the torch for so long... I will try to take some pictures and get them up...
I worked boro and soft glass yesterday...Gosh I love boro....but I need a bigger torch..or more patience...lol.....but I am going to try to really make some nice soft glass beads because I think that in the marketplace they are more desirable.
It is amazing how just sitting at the torch can melt away...anxiety and the day to day stress of life...maybe the music helps too...anyway it is just what the doctor ordered.
Today I am going to try to make some colorful sets for a wet canvas donation for kids iwth cancer along with hearts and butterflies. Wish me luck
PS I ordered a third kiln for the studio http://aimkilns.com/assets/images/96j.JPG and I am going to try to find out if I can use my first kiln as a crucible.

It's blowing like crazy outside!

This weird April weather has set me off kilter this week....My youngest daughter age 7 thought she might need a ride to school today because she is small like piglet and didn't want to get blown away! lol she is so cute!
Well Tuesday passed with little done for the studio... I have been printing off lots of inspirational pictures for bead making and have been spending hours reading in Wet Canvas forum in Art Glass.....lots of inspirational women there and a few men.
I am planning on going to a art show this weekend up in Portland...a friend of mine Suzanne Box who make incredible boro beads is selling her wares and I want to go support her! GOOOO Suzannne.....I am proud of you.
Speaking of that I need to call Winship today and check on the price of an annealer by aim......
I will keep you posted....

Getting closer......

Today I made it to Target and bought three wire shelving units...one is put together already and two are waiting for tomorrow. I also got my heater up and running to use in the garage so that I can comfortably work out in the cold icky April weather that we are currently experiencing. So maybe I am one more step forward to actually working in the garage studio! I can hope...
Here is to tomorrow............
Wish me luck

UGHHH!

Well I didn't get on the torch today! but I did work on getting the house clean and I think I have all the glass items from in the house separated and ready to go into action in the garage studio.....so I will cross my fingers and plan on getting into the studio tomorrow while the house is being repaired!

I will keep u posted!

It's snowing!!!!!!!!!!!

Believe it or not today the 20th of April and it is snowing in the valley. Unbelieveable and yesterday we had a hailing thunderstorm....it was so cool but weird....very weird.

Today it is my goal to actually get back on the torch a create something beautiful! lol...... Of course why couldn't I have picked last Sunday when the weather was in the 60's instead of today when it must be right around freezing. I guess I am doomed to be cold.

So this is my first post and I will attach hopefully a picture of me and my lovely daughters. I will post again later to apprise you of my completed work...hopefully
